Kim to chair panel at LFF

‘Busting the Bias: Everyday Inclusion of Disabled People On and Behind the Screen’ part of the 2017 London Film Festival will be chaired by our very own Kim Tserkezie.

The event, to be held at the BFI Southbank on Friday 13 October, aims to “shine a light on the under-representation of disabled people” in the industry, and is to be attended by leading broadcasters and film bodies, as well as representatives from Equity and other campaigning organisations.

A new action group, ‘Disabling The Screen’, will also be launched at the event.

The BFI are running the event in partnership with 104 Films, Carousel and Beacon Hill Arts.

Film about Kim shown at CTBF’s London Party

Kim had a fantastic – if slightly surreal – time attending CTBF’s ‘Oh, I do like to be beside the seaside’ themed London Party as their ‘special guest’.

The event, which helps raise money for the organisation, allowed Kim to acknowledge the assistance the Cinema and Television Benevolent Fund has provided to help fund her travel around the country for meetings with commissioners and potential collaborators.

A short film, by local video production company Candle & Bell, emphasising the impact of her John Brabourne Award was screened during the evening and was very well received.
